Gupta Sons

Gupta Sons is located at Shop No 11/2 in Mohalla No 24. This is right in the Jalandhar Cantt area. It’s an older part of town with a lot of history and very narrow streets. Our shop has been around for a long time, passed down through the family. It’s a small space, really. We have wooden shelves that reach all the way up to the ceiling, filled with different goods. You can find us there most days from early morning until the sun goes down. The Cantt area has its own rhythm that is a bit quieter than the main city center. We see a lot of the same faces every single week. It’s a family-run thing, so my brothers and I take turns sitting behind the counter. We don't have any fancy displays or neon signs. We just put the items out where people can see them and reach them. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded inside when more than two or three people enter at the same time. We talk a lot with the customers about the local weather and how the market is doing. It’s a plain, simple business without any frills. We focus on getting through the day and making sure we have what the neighbors are looking for. There’s always a crate of glass soda bottles in the back for when friends stop by to chat. It’s just home to us. We’ve grown up right here in this mohalla.
