Our office is located at No. 303 inside the Grand Mall at BMC Chowk. Being in a mall is different from being on a street corner. You don’t get the dust, but you do get the constant hum of the mall’s background music and the air conditioning. We are up on the third floor, away from the main food court noise. Akash Ways Travel Vatika Pvt. Ltd. is basically a room with some maps on the walls and a few computers for booking flights and buses. We have some chairs for people to sit on while we look up prices, but they aren't the most comfortable things in the world. BMC Chowk is always a mess of traffic outside, so we can see the gridlock from the windows if we look out. Most of our day is spent on the phone or clicking through websites trying to find a decent deal for someone. It’s not as glamorous as travel sounds; it’s mostly just a lot of typing and checking dates. We keep a stash of biscuits in the drawer for when the afternoon slump hits. The mall security guards usually stop by for a chat once a day. It’s a decent place to work, even if the lighting is a bit bright and artificial. We just try to get the bookings done right so people don’t have trouble when they get to the airport.
