About Architect Aman Bhakoo – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Jalandhar
I run my architecture practice out of Hm-801/4 in the Housing Board Colony here in Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar. It is a quiet residential area, which helps when I need to concentrate on drawings and plans. My office isn't anything grand, just a workspace where I spend most of my hours sitting at the desk or looking over site maps. Living and working in the same colony means I see the neighbors a lot, and sometimes they drop by just to ask a quick question about a wall or a roof. I spend a lot of time on my computer, but I also have piles of paper and sketches everywhere. It can look a bit cluttered to someone else, but I know where everything is. Being an architect involves a lot of back and forth with clients and contractors. Sometimes I am out at a construction site all day, getting dust on my shoes, and other times I am just here trying to figure out a tricky layout. I grew up around here, so I know the local buildings pretty well. It is a straightforward way of working. I don't use big words to explain things. If a plan works, it works. People usually call before coming over since I might be out checking on a project. It’s just me doing what I know how to do, right here in the neighborhood. I find that being close to home makes the long hours of drawing much easier to handle.
