We are over at House Number 272 in New Moti Nagar, Maqsudan. Jalandhar is where we’ve always been. The Ajit Group of Publication has a long history, but our office here is pretty down-to-earth. It’s a residential-style building, so it feels very much like a part of the neighborhood. We handle all kinds of publication work, which means there’s usually a lot of paper moving around and people talking about deadlines. It can get pretty hectic when a big run is going out. We don't have fancy glass walls or designer furniture. It’s mostly just old wooden desks and shelves filled with past issues and records. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, which is nice, but we stay busy inside. We have people who have worked here for decades, and they know the business inside out. It’s not about being the biggest or the flashiest; it’s just about getting the publications out on time. We take our work seriously, but we don’t feel the need to dress it up in corporate talk. We’re just a group of people in Jalandhar doing what we know how to do. Sometimes the power cuts off and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just life here. It’s a solid, honest place to work and we’re happy to be part of the community. We've seen a lot of changes in the publishing world but we just keep at it.
