Engineer

I operate out of Mugapada in the Jajpur district. If you’re looking for me, I’m at the location known as Nihar Ranjan Panda, near the Udrang post office. It’s a quiet part of Odisha, far away from the big city noise. Being an engineer here means you have to be resourceful. You can’t always run to a big store to get what you need, so you learn to make do or wait for the delivery to arrive from the city. I’ve spent my life in this area, so I understand how things work around here. My workspace is simple, just some tables and my equipment. It’s not air-conditioned or flashy, just a solid place to work. I handle a lot of different things because in a place like Jajpur, people need help with all sorts of machinery and technical problems. I don't really bother with big signs. Most people just ask around for the engineer in Mugapada and they eventually find their way to my door. The roads can be a bit rough during the rainy season, but that's just part of living in the village. I take pride in getting things running again when they break down. It’s honest work and it keeps me busy from morning until late afternoon. Sometimes I sit outside with the neighbors and have tea when the sun goes down. It's a simple life, but the work is interesting and there's always something new to solve and figure out for the locals here.
