We operate out of Shree Chandi Hardwares which is located right at Station Bazar on Jajpur Road. It is a busy spot in the Jajpur district, and you can usually hear the trains or the noise from the market nearby. This is where the work for Cap Foundatin And Tata Steel Rural Development Society happens. It’s not your typical office because we are right there where the local trade is happening. We deal with rural development projects, which means we spend a lot of time thinking about the needs of the people in the surrounding villages. Being based at a hardware shop location actually makes sense for us because it’s a place where people from the community naturally gather. We don't have fancy carpets or glass walls. We have desks tucked into a space where we can keep track of our programs and meet with anyone who comes by. It is practical and down-to-earth, just like the town of Jajpur Road itself. The work we do is about helping the local area grow and improve, but we don't like to make a big fuss about it. We just look at what needs to be done and try to get it finished with the resources we have. It’s a bit dusty sometimes and the fans are always humming, but it is a good place to work. We are just part of the everyday life here at Station Bazar.
