Yangindiasamod Foundation

If you drive out towards Chomu, you will eventually find Samod village. That is where we are located. The Yangindiasamod Foundation is based at Babu Lal’s place. He is the son of Saidu Ram Mali, and most people around here know the family well. It is a very local setup. We do not have a big sign that glows at night or any fancy lights. It is just a simple room where we gather to work. Being in a village like Samod means everyone is connected to everyone else. We hear about problems from our neighbors and we try to see if there is anything we can do to help. It is mostly just talking and trying to figure things out together. We have some old wooden furniture and a few big registers where we write everything down by hand. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, but we just carry on with what we were doing. It is a humble setup and we like it that way. We do not use a lot of big words or have long, boring meetings. We just sit together, maybe under the tree outside or in the small office area if it is raining. It feels right to be here in the village instead of some big city like Jaipur. We are just local people trying to keep things going. People stop by whenever they want to.
