Xylem Academy

Xylem Academy sits on the first floor of a building at 86/Sp-51 on Main Kumbha Marg. If you look for the big over-head water tank, you can’t miss us. Pratap Nagar Housing Board is a big area, but this specific stretch of Kumbha Marg is where most of the daily action happens. I’ve been working here for a while, and the routine is pretty much the same every day. I unlock the metal gate, climb the stairs, and start getting the rooms ready. It’s a bit of a climb, but the view of the road from the first floor isn't bad. You can see the traffic moving towards the main highway. The classrooms are filled with basic furniture that’s sturdy enough for daily use. We don’t have any fancy lounge areas or high-tech gadgets, just the essentials for teaching and learning. The fans hum quite loudly, which actually helps drown out the sound of the horns from the street. Sometimes the power goes out for a few minutes, and everyone just waits it out or uses their phone flashlights to finish their notes. It’s a very grounded place. We have a small area where we keep our bags and a kettle for tea. Most of the time, it’s just the sound of chalk on a board and the rustling of pages. It’s a simple, honest setup for students.
