You can find Ashoka Marbles Pvt. Ltd. at D-84, on Road No. 8/c. It is a standard industrial plot where we do all our processing. We have been here for a good number of years and have seen the area change around us. The business is mostly about the blocks we get from the mines. We spend a lot of time deciding how to cut a block to get the best pieces out of it. It’s a bit of a gamble sometimes because you don’t always know what the inside of the stone looks like until the saw goes through it. Our office is just a small corner of the building with some chairs and a desk where we handle the bills. We don't have any marketing people or a sales team. We just answer the phone and talk to the people who stop by. The yard can get a bit messy with the slurry from the machines, but we try to clean it out when we can. Most of our workers have been with us for a long time, so they know exactly what to do without being told. We deal with all kinds of marble, some expensive and some just regular stuff for everyday floors. It is a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We don't make big promises, we just try to get the stone cut and loaded so we can move on to the next order.
