About Vinayak Kirana Store – Food & Beverages in Jaipur
I spend most of my time here at the counter near Sirsi Road. The shop isn't huge, just enough space for the essentials people in Shekhwat Colony need every day. Usually, the morning starts with milk deliveries and making sure the bread is fresh. It gets quite dusty outside sometimes because of the traffic, so I’m often wiping down the jars of pulses or the soap boxes. There’s a ceiling fan that makes a bit of a clicking noise, but it keeps the air moving during the hot afternoons when things slow down. People from around Meena Wala come in for small things like a single packet of salt or some loose tea. I know most of their faces by now. Sometimes the kids come in after school looking for those small candy packets. I have to keep an eye on the stock levels for the lentils and rice since those go pretty fast. It’s not fancy here, just some metal shelves and old wooden counters that have seen better days. I’ve lived in this part of Jhotwara for a long time, so setting up here felt right. It's mostly just me and sometimes a nephew helping out when things get busy during festivals. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes the bags of flour end up stacked a bit messy in the corner because we ran out of room. It is what it is, just a local shop for the neighborhood folks to get their kitchen stuff without having to go too far. It's been like this for years.
