Vimal Granite

We are located at Plot No. H-90 in the industrial area of Shahpura. There is a mandir nearby, so you can often hear the bells during the day. It’s a good spot, fairly quiet compared to the main roads. We mostly handle granite here. The slabs come in on big trucks and we have to find a place for them in the yard. It’s like a big puzzle sometimes. We spend a lot of our time walking around the plot, checking the different colors and types of stone we have. The sun can be quite strong, so we try to do the heavy moving early in the day. We are just a local operation. We don't have any big corporate goals; we just want to sell the granite we have and make sure it’s cut right. Most of our tools are old but they still work fine if you treat them well. People from the nearby villages come by looking for stuff for their homes. We talk to them, show them what’s available, and help them load it up. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. There is always a layer of stone dust on everything, including our clothes. We don't mind it much anymore. It is just part of being at Vimal Granite. We stay open until the evening and then head home to rest for the next shift. We’ve been part of this area for a long time.
