Umang Stone International

You can find us at 403 Sapphire Jagan Plaza right on the Jai Singh Highway. It’s a convenient location for us because it’s easy for people to find when they are coming into the city. Umang Stone International is basically a small team of us working out of this office to manage stone orders. We don’t keep the heavy slabs here in the plaza, obviously, so it’s a lot of coordination over the phone and email. A typical day involves checking on shipments and making sure the quality of the stone at the yard is what the customer expects. We have samples scattered around the office so people can feel the texture and see the colors of the different stones we handle. Sometimes the elevators in the building are slow, which is annoying when we’re in a hurry to get to a meeting. We drink a lot of tea while we work through the logistics of moving heavy loads across the country. It’s not the most exciting work, but it’s what we know. We’ve got a routine down now after being here for so long. We just focus on the details and try to avoid any big mistakes with the orders. The highway outside is always loud, but you get used to it after a few weeks of working here. It's just our everyday reality.
