Triveni Sangeet College

Our music college is right here in Jaipur. It’s not a huge campus, just a few rooms where we teach various instruments and singing. You can usually hear the sound of sitars or harmoniums coming from the windows if you walk by. We have a few teachers who have been playing for decades. They sit on the floor with the students and go over the notes. It’s not a very formal place. We have rugs on the floor and some old instruments leaning against the walls. Some of the equipment has seen better days, but they still sound fine. We teach both kids and adults who want to learn something new. The schedules are a bit flexible because people have work and school. We don’t have any big advertisements. People usually find us through word of mouth. Sometimes we organize a small gathering where everyone plays together, but it’s nothing too grand. The building is simple, and we spend most of our time practicing. We don’t have a fancy reception area. If you want to talk to us, you just walk into the main room. It’s a place for people who actually care about the music. There are no shiny brochures here. We just focus on the scales and the rhythm every single afternoon. We keep the traditions going as best as we can in this part of Rajasthan.
