The Power Mech

If you head down to VKIA Road No 9A, you’ll find us at G-5-10/ B. The Power Mech is basically a place where we deal with mechanical parts and industrial gear. It’s not the cleanest spot because there’s always a bit of grease or metal dust around, but that’s normal for an industrial area like this. We have a lot of heavy machinery and components stacked up on metal racks. The ceilings are high and the lights are those big industrial ones that hum a little. Most of our day is spent looking at part numbers or moving crates with the trolley. It’s loud because of the workshops nearby, but we don't really notice it anymore. We’ve been based in this section of the industrial estate for quite some time now. Customers usually come in with a specific part they need to replace or a machine that’s acting up. We just look through what we have and try to help them out. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. We don't have a reception desk or a waiting room. You just walk in and talk to whoever is available at the counter. It’s a practical environment for people who work with their hands and need parts for their own jobs. The coffee we make in the back is usually pretty strong too.
