Sree Laxmi Cement

Our place, Sree Laxmi Cement, is located over in the Sitapura Industrial Area, right on Tonk Road near the Kisan Marg turnoff. It is an industrial part of town, so it stays pretty loud with all the heavy vehicles passing by at all hours. We spend most of our time moving heavy bags of cement around the warehouse. There is always a fine layer of grey dust on the windows and the furniture, no matter how much we try to clean it off. We don't have a big marketing team or a shiny storefront. It is just a big gate and a yard where the trucks pull in to load up. Most of the people who come here are regular contractors we have known for years. We keep our operations very simple. We open the shutters, check the stock, and wait for the deliveries to arrive from the plants. On hot days, the warehouse gets stuffy, so we keep the fans running at full speed. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. Sometimes we sit outside on plastic chairs to have our tea when things quiet down for a minute. You can see the traffic moving toward the city from our front entrance. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure the bags don't get damp if the rain starts suddenly. It is a basic setup but it works for us and the local builders.
