This part of Jaipur is massive and is filled with industrial shops, so it’s a very busy environment to work in. We have a good amount of space here at E-100, which we need because we carry both marble and granite. The trucks come in from the nearby quarries and unload these huge slabs that we then have to organize. It gets incredibly hot in the V.K.I Area during the summer, and the heat reflects off the stone, making the yard a tough place to be. We don't have any fancy sales tactics. We just let people walk around and look at the slabs for themselves. If they have questions about where a stone came from or how it will hold up, we tell them what we know from years of handling it. We spend a lot of our time coordinating deliveries and making sure the slabs are loaded safely onto the trucks. It’s a lot of logistics and manual labor. Most of our days are spent in the dirt and the dust, making sure the inventory is right and the customers are getting what they saw in the yard. It’s a no-frills kind of place, and we just focus on the daily grind of running a stone business in such a large industrial zone.
