Shri Ram Masala Udyog

Shri Ram Masala Udyog is situated in Shekhawat Colony, Meenawala, right off Sirsi Road in Jaipur. Our day-to-day work is mostly around spices, which is different from a general kirana store. The whole place smells very strongly of turmeric, chili, and coriander. It’s a scent that sticks to your clothes even after you leave the 302021 area. We spend long hours grinding and then packing these masalas into different sizes. The machines we use are pretty loud, so it’s hard to hear anything else when they are running. Besides spices, we do keep some basic general items because folks in Shekhawat Colony often need a few other things for their kitchens. The shop gets a bit dusty because of the grinding, so we are constantly wiping down the counters and shelves. It’s a family business, and we all help out with the heavy lifting and moving sacks around. Sometimes we are busy with big orders, and other times it’s just a neighbor wanting a small packet of garam masala for their dinner. We don't have any fancy bright packaging, just plain bags that keep the spices fresh. Life here on Sirsi Road stays quite busy, and we just focus on getting the work done. Our hands are usually stained yellow or red by the time we close up, but that’s just how it is when you work with spices all day.
