About Shri Natani Marbles – Building & Construction Material in Jaipur
Shri Natani Marbles has its yard at E-8 Barkat Nagar, right near the overbridge. It’s a spot that’s easy to see when you’re coming over the bridge, with all the stone slabs leaning against each other. Dealing with marble is heavy, dusty work, and you can see that all over our clothes and the ground. We have different types of stone stacked up, mostly local varieties. Some are rough and some are polished. We spend our days moving these big pieces around with the help of a few workers. It’s not a quiet place. There’s often the sound of stone being cut or loaded onto a truck. We don’t have a fancy showroom. Most of the business happens right there in the open air or under a small tin roof where we have a desk and some samples. When it rains, we have to cover things up, and when it’s hot, the stone gets warm to the touch. It’s a simple operation that we’ve been running for a while now. We know our way around the different types of marble and what they’re used for. People come by, look at the stacks, and we talk about what might work for their project. It’s honest work and we just take it one day at a time here by the bridge. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take our only real break from the dust. It's just stone and hard work.
