Our place, Shree Vinayak Marble And Stone Company, is located near the railway bridge on Mian Tonk Road. It’s a spot where you can always hear the trains passing by, which is something you eventually stop noticing after working here for a few months. We handle a lot of different stones and marbles every day. The work is mostly manual, moving slabs and making sure everything is stacked safely. Mian Tonk Road is a busy area, and being near the bridge makes us a familiar sight for commuters. We aren't big on fancy titles or complicated business plans. We just open up in the morning and get to work. Sometimes the dust from the stones gets a bit heavy, especially when the wind picks up near the tracks, but we just deal with it. It’s a very honest way to make a living. Most of the people who work here have been doing this for years. We don't have a lot of time for sitting around. There is always a truck to unload or a customer who needs to see a specific type of stone. We like the location because everyone knows the railway bridge, so it’s hard to get lost looking for us. We keep things simple and practical, just like the stone we sell. That’s how we’ve always done it here on Tonk Road, just taking things one day at a time.
