We are over at 30, Sms Colony, right near Visag Path. It’s on the main road of Shipra Path in Mansarovar. Most people know the area because of Agarwal Farm. Being on the main road means there is always noise from the traffic and horns honking all day long. We have been working with stone here for years. It’s not a fancy place, just a yard with a lot of different stones stacked up. When the sun is out, the heat reflects off the marble slabs and it gets really warm in the office. We spend most of our time outside anyway, showing people what we have in stock. There is always a layer of fine white dust on everything, even our clothes. We don’t bother with big advertisements or anything like that. People just see the sign when they drive past or someone tells them where we are. Dealing with stone is heavy work. Your hands get rough and your back gets tired by evening. We usually have a couple of guys helping with the lifting. Sometimes the trucks arrive late at night and we have to be here to open the gates. It is just a regular local business. We keep track of things in a notebook and talk to whoever walks in. It’s mostly about just getting the day’s work done and making sure the inventory is right.
