Shree Laxmi Marble

Our yard is located right off Tonk Road, not too far from the airport. If you look for the Hanuman Tube Well Company, we are right near there. It’s a busy spot with lots of trucks and dust, as you can imagine with a marble business. We have been here at Shree Laxmi Marble for quite some time now. Most days are spent moving heavy slabs around and showing people what we have in stock. It is heavy work and your hands get dirty, but it is what we do. The sun can get pretty hot out here on the road, so we try to get the heavy lifting done early when we can. We have all sorts of stone piled up, and sometimes it takes a bit of digging to find exactly what someone is looking for. It is not a showroom with air conditioning and fancy lights; it is just a workplace where we keep the inventory. People stop by because they are building something or fixing up a floor. We just tell them what is available and help them load it up. It’s a straightforward way to make a living. Tonk Road is always noisy, but you get used to it after a few years. We just keep our heads down, watch the inventory, and make sure the deliveries go out when they are supposed to. It’s just us here, working with the stone every day. It’s hard work, but we’re used to it.
