Our place is out in Village Ranjeetpura, which is part of the Chomu Tehsil in Jaipur district. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, but we like it out here where there is more space for the marble slabs. We started this because we knew the area well and saw people needed a local source for stone. It’s mostly just a few of us working the yard every day. We spend a lot of time on the phone coordinating with drivers or helping someone load up their trailer. The ground is usually covered in white stone dust, which is just part of the job when you deal with marble suppliers. We don't have any fancy sales pitches or anything. If someone needs stone, they come by, look at what we have on the ground, and we figure out the rest. Chomu is a busy area for this kind of work, so there are always trucks moving back and forth on the roads. Sometimes we sit outside and have a break when the sun gets too hot. It is a simple life, focused on the weight and the look of the stone. We have been here long enough that most of the local builders know to find us in Ranjeetpura. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing, day in and day out.
