Sharma Stones & Marbles

We have been sitting here at B-12 Gopalpura Byepass for quite some time. Basant Bahar is a recognizable spot near Tonk Road, so finding Sharma Stones & Marbles isn't too hard once you get the directions right. Dealing with heavy stuff like marble and stones means our place is always a bit dusty, but that is part of the work. We keep different slabs out where people can actually look at them without any pressure. It is a family thing mostly. My brother and I run the yard. We aren't big talkers, we just show what we have in stock. If you need something for a floor or a kitchen, we show you the pieces we have on the lot. Tonk Road gets really crowded during the day, so sometimes deliveries take a bit longer, but we manage. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in Jaipur, just a normal one where you get what you see. The yard is open most days. Sometimes the sun gets really hot out there among the stones. We’ve seen the area around Basant Bahar change a lot since we started. More buildings, more cars. But the stone business stays pretty much the same. You pick a piece, we cut it, and that’s that. No need to make it sound like more than it is. We have a small crane that helps with the lifting. It saves our backs a bit. It’s hard work but we are used to it.
