Seven Colours (Indian Wedding Cards)

Seven Colours is our shop for Indian wedding cards, and we are based in the Vishwakarma Industrial Area in Jaipur. Specifically, we are at A-187(J) on Road No. 6(1-D). Being in an industrial area means there is always the sound of machinery and trucks around us. Our space is filled with the smell of printing ink and stacks of different kinds of paper and cardstock. We have the printing presses running for most of the day, especially during the wedding season when things get really hectic. It’s a bit dusty because of all the construction and factories nearby, but we try to keep the card samples clean. We have some samples laid out on a table for people to look at, but mostly it is a production space. The Jaipur heat can be quite tough in the summer, especially with the machines running, so we use several fans to keep the air moving. Our team is usually busy cutting paper or checking the colors on the latest batch of cards. It’s a lot of manual work and paying attention to the small details on the invitations. We don’t have a fancy storefront on a main shopping street. People come here to the V.K.I. area because this is where the actual work happens. We stay late many nights to make sure the orders are ready on time for the families who need them.
