Rupesh Metals

You can find Rupesh Metals at number 634 in Vidhyadhar Ka Rasta, right in the middle of Tripoliya Bazar. It’s an old building in a very old part of the city. We deal in different types of metals and household items made of brass or steel. The lane is so narrow that you can barely fit two bikes past each other, so it’s always a bit of a squeeze. We have been here for generations, and the shop still looks much like it did when my father ran it. We have big stacks of metal containers and plates piled up against the walls. The air always feels a bit heavy with the smell of the warehouse. It’s a very busy place, especially during the festival seasons when everyone wants new things for their kitchen. We spend a lot of time talking to customers who have been buying from us for decades. They know us and we know them. We don't have any fancy lighting or signs. We just open the shutters early in the morning and start moving things around. Sometimes the rain leaks in a bit near the back door, but we just put a bucket there and carry on. It’s hard work, lifting heavy crates and weighing metal all day long, but it’s what we know. We are just a small part of the big market here and we take it one day at a time.
