You can find us right in the Jalupura Jagatpura Main Market. It’s a lively spot to have a business because there is never a dull moment. Being in the main market means there are always people walking past and sticking their heads in to see what Ramphool Painter is doing. The shop is full of paint tins, rollers, and different kinds of brushes. There’s a distinct smell of thinner and fresh paint that hits you as soon as you walk in. We spend a lot of time mixing colors and testing them on small bits of wood. It can get a bit messy, especially on the floor where we do most of the mixing. We’ve got a small bench outside where we sit when the shop gets too hot. Jagatpura is a busy area, so we often have to deal with traffic and noise right at our doorstep. Most of our regulars are folks from around the market who need a bit of work done on their shops or homes. We don't do much advertising; people just see our sign and come in. It’s a very hands-on kind of day for us. We start early when the market is just waking up and stay until the shutters start coming down in the evening. It’s a good way to live, being right in the thick of things and seeing the same faces every day. The work is steady and it keeps us going.
