Kala Bharti Cooking & Painting Institute

Our place, Kala Bharti Cooking & Painting Institute, is tucked away at S-24, right behind Laxmi Cafe. It’s a bit of a quiet corner, which is nice because it gives us some peace while we’re working on something. If you find the cafe, you’ve basically found us. We have been running classes here for people who want to learn how to cook or pick up a paintbrush for a while. It’s not a huge space, but it’s enough for what we do. The walls are mostly covered with sketches and notes, and there’s usually the smell of something being baked or fried in the air. We don't really follow a strict corporate schedule; things are a bit more relaxed here. We just show people the basics and let them try it out for themselves. Sometimes the kitchen gets a bit messy when we’re trying out a new recipe, and the painting area always has a few spills on the floor, but that’s just how it goes when you’re actually doing the work. We get all sorts of people coming in, some who have never held a spatula and others who just want to get better at drawing. It’s a simple setup with wooden tables and a few stoves. We like being behind the cafe because we can always grab a tea if we need a break. It’s a local spot where people can just come and spend a few hours learning something practical without any pressure or fuss.
