Ramesh Publishing House

Ramesh Publishing House is located at 934 Chaura Rasta, right in the heart of the old city. If you know Jaipur, you know that Chaura Rasta is one of the busiest streets for books and printing. Our building is old, and you can feel the history in the walls. Inside, it is packed with stacks of paper, half-printed books, and the constant smell of ink and old glue. It is a bit of a maze with all the shelves reaching up to the ceiling. We have been here for a long time, and we have seen the street change quite a bit over the decades. Ramesh and the rest of us spend our days sorting through manuscripts and dealing with the printers. The noise from the street is constant—rickshaws, tourists, and students looking for textbooks. We don't have a modern office with glass partitions. We have old wooden desks that are stained with tea and ink. Sometimes it gets a little disorganized, but we know exactly where everything is. People come to us when they want something printed or when they are looking for specific titles. We just do our work and try to keep up with the orders. It is a family-run feel, even if we are busy. When the sun sets, Chaura Rasta lights up, and we finally start packing up for the day. It is a lot of hard work, but we like being around books and the local market.
