Rain Country Resorts

Rain Country Resorts is out in Lakkidi, which is one of the wettest places you’ll ever find around here. If you come during the monsoon, you’d better bring an umbrella because it never seems to stop raining for days on end. We are surrounded by a lot of greenery and trees, which is nice, but it also means we spend half our time fighting back the dampness and cleaning up moss from the stone paths. It’s very quiet up here compared to the city. Sometimes the only thing you can hear is the wind in the trees or the rain hitting the roof. We have a small crew that takes care of the property. We do a lot of walking up and down the hills to get to the different rooms and check on things. It’s not a place with elevators or air conditioning in every corner because the air is usually cool enough on its own. We spend our days making sure the paths are clear and the kitchen has enough supplies, which can be tricky when the roads get muddy and slow. It’s a bit of a hike to get here, but once you’re in Lakkidi, you really feel like you’re away from everything. We just keep things simple and try to make sure the rooms stay dry and the food is warm for everyone who visits. It’s a lot of work keeping a place like this running in the middle of nature.
