The Vki Area is always a busy place to be. Our unit is over at A-189/B on Road No. 1/D. It stays pretty loud inside with all the machines running. We do industrial work, mostly metal stuff and parts that other businesses need. The floor is concrete and usually has some oil spots on it no matter how much we sweep. It gets really hot in the summer months, so we keep the big shutters open to catch whatever breeze comes through the industrial estate. Most of the guys here have been working these machines for years. We do not do much talking when the loaders are moving around. There is always a truck backing in or a delivery going out. It is a bit of a maze getting around this part of the city if you are not used to it. We keep our supplies stacked in the back corner near the office. The office is just a small desk with a bunch of ledgers and a phone that never stops ringing. We do not have fancy uniforms or a lobby for visitors. Most people who come here are just looking to pick up an order or drop off raw materials. It is a grit and grime kind of job but it is what we know how to do. We just focus on getting the daily list finished before the sun goes down and we head home.
