National Highway Authority Of India has a spot here in Vaishali Nagar, specifically at Shop No 156 on Gandhipath. It might seem a bit small to be tucked into a shop, but this is where we handle a lot of the local coordination. The Gandhipath area has grown a lot lately, so there is always construction or something happening nearby. Inside the shop, it’s mostly just maps, stacks of papers, and a couple of computers that have seen a lot of use. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations on the walls. It’s a functional place where we deal with the paperwork side of the roads. People come in with questions about the highways or looking for permits, and we do our best to find the right file in the pile. It gets quite hot in the summer, so the overhead fan is always clicking away. We are right there in the row of shops, so we see the same neighbors every day. It’s a very different feel from a big government building. It’s more personal and a bit more chaotic, but we know where everything is. We spend our hours going through documents and taking calls from the field. It’s just a regular day at the office for us here in Vaishali Nagar. We don't make a big deal about the work, we just try to keep the records straight as things move along.
