Nandita Interiors

Our little studio for Nandita Interiors is over on Gautam Path in Vaishali Nagar, at D 26. It’s usually a bit of a chaotic scene inside, with fabric swatches draped over chairs and piles of wood samples sitting on the floor. Interior work sounds glamorous to some people, but mostly it’s about measuring things twice and arguing with vendors about when the sofa is actually going to be ready. We spend our time trying to figure out how to make a room look right without spending a fortune. Vaishali Nagar is a nice area, and we like the vibe of the neighborhood, especially in the evenings when things settle down. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that; we just show people what we can do and hope they like the results. Sometimes a project takes much longer than we thought, or the paint color looks completely different once it’s on the wall, and we have to start over. It’s a lot of trial and error and late nights looking at catalogs. We’ve worked on a lot of homes around here, and each one has its own set of problems to solve. It is a messy, creative process, and we wouldn't want to be doing anything else, even on the days when everything seems to be going wrong with the plumbing or the carpentry.
