Our place is called Namkeen Shop and you can find us in Chandpole Bazar. It is a very old part of the city and it always feels alive. We spend most of our time frying snacks and packing them into bags. The smell of spices and oil is everywhere in the shop. It is a small space, so it gets quite hot near the big pans. We make things like sev, bhujia, and different types of mixtures. Customers come in all day, especially in the evenings when they want something to take home for tea. Chandpole Bazar is always packed with people and rickshaws, so it can be hard to get around. We have some regular customers who have been buying from us for twenty years. They tell us stories about how the bazar used to look. We don't use any fancy packaging. We just put the namkeen in plain bags and weigh it on the scale. Sometimes we run out of a popular snack and people have to wait for the next batch to be ready. We try to keep up but we only have a few people working here. It is a lot of standing and stirring. We don't have a menu board or anything like that. People just look at what is fresh and pick it out. It is a straightforward business and we are glad to be part of the market.
