Working at Muhana Mandi on New Sanganer Road means our days start very early. Usually we are up and moving before the sun even thinks about coming out. Being part of the fruit and vegetable scene here is a lot of work because everything moves so fast. The crates come in from the farms and we have to get things sorted and moved out to where they need to go. It is a big operation with a lot of trucks and noise all the time. Our spot here is always filled with the smell of fresh produce and the sound of people haggling or shouting directions. We have a team that handles the logistics and makes sure the milk and veggies are handled right. It is not a clean or quiet office job by any means. There is always mud on someone’s boots and a lot of heavy lifting. We deal with farmers and vendors all day long and it is mostly about getting the goods from one place to another without any delays. The mandi is a world of its own and we have been a part of it for a while now. We don't really have time for fancy talk because there is always another truck waiting to be unloaded or a delivery to check. It is honest work and it keeps the city fed which is something to think about.
