Mama Ji Marble

Mama Ji Marble is situated on Ajmer Road, right in the DCM area. We are very close to the Bank of Baroda, which is the easiest way to find us. It’s a big open space because marble takes up a lot of room. We have slabs of all different colors leaning against the walls. The ground is usually covered in stone slurry or dust. It’s a loud place because we have to use cranes or loaders to move the heavy pieces. Ajmer Road is a main artery, so there is never a quiet moment with the trucks passing by. We spend the day measuring stone and talking to contractors who come in for their building sites. It’s hard work and your clothes always end up white from the marble dust. We have a small cabin where we sit to do the billing. It’s not very fancy, just a place to get out of the sun for a minute. We’ve been here near DCM for a long while. Most people know us by the name Mama Ji. We don't go for big displays, the stone speaks for itself. If someone needs a piece for a kitchen or a floor, they just walk around the yard until they see something they like. It’s a straightforward business. We show the stock, we load it up, and that’s a day’s work for us. The sun can be brutal out here.
