Mahendra Khandelwal Co is based right on Mahaveer Marg in Lalkothi. If you know Jaipur, you know this is a pretty central spot to be. Our office is at M 27, and it is usually a hub of activity. I wouldn’t call it a fancy place, but we have everything we need to get through the work week. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the current shade of off-white has grown on me over the years. We have a lot of stacks of paper everywhere, which is just the nature of what we do. My morning routine involves opening up the shutters and letting some air in before the heat of the day really sets in. Lalkothi can get quite dusty, so I’m always wiping down the tables and the chairs. I’ve been working in this area for a long time and have seen many businesses come and go. We have managed to stick around by just showing up and doing the job every day. I don’t like having a lot of complicated systems. I prefer talking to people face-to-face when possible. It feels more real that way. Sometimes the traffic outside gets so loud it’s hard to hear, but you get used to the rhythm of the street. It’s just part of being in this neighborhood. We are usually here from morning until the sun goes down, just keeping things moving along as they should be.
