Mahalaxmi Tools

Mahalaxmi Tools is right in the heart of the old city in Jaipur, near the GPO. We are located in a small lane called Achar Wali Gali, which is on Gopal Je Ke Rasta at number 1230 2. If you know Jaipur, you know these lanes are narrow and always full of people and scooters. Our shop is packed from floor to ceiling with all kinds of hardware and tools. We have wrenches, hammers, drill bits, and things most people probably do not even know the names of. It is a bit dark inside because the buildings are so close together, so we keep the lights on even during the day. We spend a lot of time climbing up ladders to find that one specific tool a customer is looking for. It is a dusty job and the metal tools are heavy to move around. We have been in this spot for years and we know most of the other shopkeepers in the gali. People come to us because they know we likely have that odd-sized bolt or the specific pliers they need for a repair. It is a very traditional way of doing business, just across the counter with a lot of talk. We do not have any fancy displays or air conditioning. It is just us, the tools, and the constant hum of the Jaipur city market right outside our door. We keep the inventory mostly in our heads and on a few handwritten ledgers.
