Mahalaxmi Confectionary Store

Mahalaxmi Confectionary Store is located right on Surajpole Mandi Road. It is a busy spot because of all the trucks and carts coming from the mandi with vegetables and grain. We sell all the usual stuff like biscuits, chocolates, and snacks that people need for their homes. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling because the shop isn't very wide. I spend a lot of time climbing the ladder to get things down for customers. During the school holidays, we get a lot of kids coming in with small coins looking for something sweet. The noise from the road never really stops until very late at night. We have a small fan in the corner that helps a bit during the summer, but it’s still quite hot. My brother and I take turns sitting at the counter. We deal with suppliers almost every day, checking the crates and making sure the dates on the milk and bread are right. It’s just a regular neighborhood store where you can get your daily needs without any fuss. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the name over the door. People from the nearby houses know us well. We keep a ledger for some of the neighbors who pay at the end of the month. It’s how things have always worked here on Mandi Road. The days are long but we like seeing the familiar faces.
