Maa Karni Stone C

Our shop, Maa Karni Stone C, is located at 1 Sirsi Road in Jaipur, right near the Defence Officers Campus. Working with stone is what we do every single day. It’s heavy, dirty work and it definitely keeps you tired. Our yard is full of different types of stone slabs and pieces we are currently working on. There is always a layer of white dust over everything, including the old truck we use for deliveries. We don't have a fancy office or a place to sit that isn't covered in a bit of grit. People come by the Sirsi Road location to see the stone in person because pictures don't really show how it feels. We’ve been here for a good number of years now. The campus nearby is a quiet neighbor, which is nice. We aren't a big company with many employees. It’s just a few of us who know how to cut and shape the material without breaking it. Stone is unforgiving, so you have to pay attention to what you’re doing. We don't have any big mission statements or anything like that. We just try to do the work the right way so it lasts. The noise from the saws is constant during the day, but we stop early enough to let the neighborhood have some peace in the evening. It’s a hard job, but seeing a finished piece is always a good feeling for us.
