Lokesh Marble House

Our place, Lokesh Marble House, is over at S-20 in Shri Gopal Nagar, near the Gopalpura area. It’s a spot where there’s always a bit of white dust in the air from the stone. We have different slabs leaning against the walls and some smaller samples on the shelves. The floor is mostly covered in scraps and markings. It’s a physical kind of job, so we aren't wearing suits or anything. Most of the time we are moving things around or talking to people about what they need for their floors. The office part is just a small corner with a table and a couple of plastic chairs. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things lively. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we keep the big doors open for a breeze. People come in with measurements written on bits of paper, and we try to help them find what fits. It isn’t a fancy boutique. It’s more of a warehouse feel where you can see the actual materials. We have a small crew that helps with the heavy lifting. Sometimes we run out of space when a new load arrives, so it gets a bit crowded. We’ve been at this Gopalpura location for a good bit of time now. It’s just a straightforward business where we focus on the stone and the daily work that comes with it.
