Laxmi Silver Mines

We are located at number 197 in Haldiyon Ka Rasta, right in the middle of the Johari Bazar. Even though the name says Laxmi Silver Mines, we are more of a trading spot for silver items and materials. The street outside is always crowded with shoppers and rickshaws. Our place is quite narrow, so we have to be careful how we stack our stock. We have a few heavy safes where we keep the more valuable items. The lighting inside isn't the best, but we have some bright bulbs over the main counter. We spend most of the day talking to other traders or people looking for specific silver pieces. It gets very hot in the afternoons, so we have a small fan that we keep pointed at the customer area. We’ve known the other shopkeepers on this street for years. It’s a tight community. Sometimes we share lunch or just stand outside and chat when things are slow. We don't have any fancy brochures. People just come in, look at the silver, and we talk about the price based on the weight that day. It's a very straightforward way of doing business. The walls are painted a pale color that has faded over the years, but it doesn't really matter as long as the work gets done. We keep a ledger on the desk to record every transaction by hand. The front door is made of heavy iron and it creaks quite a bit when it's moved. We use a small brush to clean the scales every morning.
