Chaura Rasta is one of those places that never really stays quiet, and we are right in the middle of it at numbers 34 and 35. The shop name is Kothari, and it’s been sitting here on this stretch for quite a while. When the sun comes down the wide road in the afternoon, it gets pretty warm inside, so we keep the old ceiling fans going at full speed. The building itself is older, with high ceilings and those thick walls you don't see in new constructions. We have a lot of stuff packed into the space, and sometimes it feels a bit cluttered, but we manage to find what we need. Dealing with the traffic out front is just part of the daily routine. You see the rickshaws and the bikes constantly moving past. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know the routine. Most of our day is spent talking to people who walk in off the street or checking on the inventory we have in the back. There isn't any fancy decor here, just wooden counters and shelves that have been around since we started. It’s a straightforward way of doing business. We open in the morning, sweep the front, and stay until the market starts to wind down in the evening. It's a busy life, and there's always something to do with the stock or the customers who come looking for us specifically.
