Jyoti Marbles

Jyoti Marbles is over at A-153, Man-Darpan, in the Nehru Nagar area. We have been here for a good stretch of time now. The shop is part of the Man-Darpan building, and it’s a pretty straightforward place. We keep our marble stock inside and sometimes have pieces out where people can see them easily. Nehru Nagar is a busy neighborhood, and we get a lot of local folks walking in just to see what kind of patterns we have in the stone. We don't have a team of fancy designers. It’s usually just us, showing people the different slabs and explaining how they might look once they are polished and laid down. The space isn't huge, so we have to be careful with how we stack the marble so nothing gets broken. We spend a lot of time cleaning the slabs because the street dust tends to settle on everything. It’s a small, local business, and we don't try to make it sound like anything else. We don't do big advertisements. Mostly, people hear about us from someone else in the neighborhood who bought stone here before. We just focus on keeping the stock coming in and helping people pick out what they need for their homes. It’s a lot of manual work and long hours, but we’re used to the pace of things here. We just try to be helpful and keep the shop running as best as we can every day.
