Our place is over at E-79 in Shyam Nagar Extn. It’s tucked away a bit, but we’ve been here long enough that people find us. Working with marble is one of those things that takes a lot of patience. You can't rush moving these slabs or you'll end up with a mess. We spend most of our time out back checking the stock or talking to the drivers who bring the blocks in. It gets loud sometimes when the saws are running, so we usually talk a bit louder than most. It’s not a corporate setup with desks and suits. We wear boots and clothes that we don't mind getting a bit of stone dust on. Some folks come by just to see the patterns in the stone because no two pieces look the same. We tell them to take their time. Choosing marble for a house is a big deal and we don’t like to push people. The sun hits the yard pretty hard in the afternoon, making everything look different than it did in the morning. We try to keep things organized, but in a stone yard, things have a way of moving around. It’s a simple business. We buy stone, we keep it here, and we sell it to whoever needs it for their project. Most of the guys here have lived in the area for years, so we know the shortcuts and the local weather patterns. It is just what we do every day.
