It’s pretty busy over here on Ajmer Road most mornings. You’ll see the yellow buses pulling up and kids jumping out with their bags nearly as big as they are. Our spot at No 207-208 in the Chitrakoot Scheme is easy enough to find if you know where Raj Bhavan Road cuts through. The building has been here for a good bit now. We spend a lot of time just keeping up with the daily stuff, like making sure the classrooms are ready and the water coolers are full. Jaipur heat can be a real thing, so we keep the fans going all day. There’s always a bit of a rush around the gate when school lets out. Some parents are early, sitting on their scooters and checking their phones. Inside, it’s rarely quiet. You hear teachers talking and the sound of chairs dragging across the floor. Sometimes we have to remind the older boys not to run in the hallways. The office usually has a stack of papers waiting to be signed or filed. We don't really do anything fancy here, just the usual school work and making sure things don't get too chaotic. It feels like a big family most days, even when things go a bit wrong like a light bulb blowing out or someone forgetting their lunch box in the playground. It's just life at Jayshree Periwal every day.
