Jaipur Tools

Our place is at 7 Sansar Chandra Road. It’s a busy street, so there is always something to look at out the front window. Jaipur Tools has been operating from this building for a long time. We mostly deal with hand tools and some power equipment. The shelves are heavy and made of old wood. We try to keep things in order, but when things get busy, stuff ends up everywhere. It’s a family-run thing. My brother handles the deliveries and I stay at the shop to talk to whoever walks in. We get all kinds of people, from professional builders to folks just trying to fix a leaky pipe at home. We don't use a lot of fancy technology. There is a ledger on the desk where we write everything down. Sometimes the light in the back flickers, but we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. The floor is concrete and shows all the years of boots walking over it. We don't do much in terms of marketing. People know where we are and what we have. Most of our business comes from people who have been coming here for decades. They know they can find a decent wrench or a saw without any fuss. It’s just a normal shop on a normal street. We keep the doors open even when it’s dusty outside. That’s just how we do things at number seven.
