Jain Sons

Our shop, Jain Sons, is on the first floor at 297 Chaura Rasta, right across from Laal Bhavan. Being on the first floor means people have to walk up the narrow stairs. It can be a bit of a climb if you aren't used to it. Chaura Rasta is one of those old, famous streets that is always full of life. Bookstores and other shops are everywhere nearby. We can hear the sounds of the street from our windows all day long. Inside, the place feels a bit old-fashioned. We have wooden counters and shelves that have been there since we started. A specific smell of old paper and fabric just hangs in the air. Modern decorations aren't really our thing. It’s just a place of business where we handle daily transactions and talk to our regular visitors. Sometimes the street below gets very crowded. This makes it hard for deliveries to reach us on time. We usually start our day by dusting the shelves and making sure everything is in its place. Opp Laal Bhavan is a good landmark for people trying to find us. We’ve spent many years here, watching the city change while we stay pretty much the same. It’s a steady pace of life. We’ve grown to appreciate the routine over the decades. Dealing with the same customers for years makes the workday go by faster than you would think.
