Irfan Kirana Store

Walking around the Chaardarwaja area in Jaipur, you will see a lot of history and a lot of dust. Irfan Kirana Store is right there on Baas Road. It is not a very big shop, but we have managed to fit a lot of goods inside. We have bags of rice and flour sitting on the floor and jars of sweets on the front counter for the children. The building is old, like many others in this part of Jaipur. Sometimes the walls need a bit of a touch-up, but we are usually too busy to get to it. We open up the shop early because people around here like to get their milk and bread before the sun gets too strong. The street outside is narrow, so it's always a bit of a squeeze for the delivery bikes. We have known most of our customers since they were kids. Now they bring their own children to buy toffees from us. It is a quiet life in a way, even with all the noise from the Baas Road traffic. We don't use any fancy bags or wrappers. We just use what we have. If we don't have something you want, we tell you where else you might find it in the market. There is no point in pretending. We are just a local kirana store trying to make a living and help our neighbors get what they need for their kitchens. It is a lot of work.
