Hotel Kavita

Hotel Kavita is tucked away on Amer Road, near the Golimar Sadan. If you know where the Brahampuri Thana is, you can’t miss us. It’s a busy part of Jaipur, especially with all the tourists heading up toward the fort every day. We see the colorful autos and the big buses going past all morning. Our building is a bit squeezed in between others, like many places in this part of the city. We’ve got S-12 on our door, but sometimes people still get a bit lost in the lanes. The walls are painted a light color that we try to keep clean, though the monsoon rains always leave some marks. Inside, it’s mostly just us and the guests. We spend a lot of time talking to the vegetable sellers and the shopkeepers nearby. It’s a neighborhood where everyone knows everyone. We don’t have a big corporate team, just a couple of us who take turns at the desk and do the laundry. The rooms are small but they have what you need for a night or two. We don’t use any of those online booking systems much; we prefer it when people just show up or call. The fans hum pretty loud when it's hot, and the city sounds never really stop until very late at night. It’s just how things are here near the police station. It feels like a real piece of the old city. We keep a few extra blankets in the cupboard for the winter months.
