Gwalior Stones

Gwalior Stones is located at Plot No-23 and 24 on Kalwar Road. We are right in the Suraj Nagar part of Jhotwara. If you come by, you’ll see stacks of stone slabs piled up everywhere. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. We spend most of our time out in the sun, moving things around or helping people pick out what they need for their floors or walls. It’s heavy work and my back feels it every evening. The yard isn't very pretty, it’s mostly just gravel and stone dust. We have a few cutting machines that make a lot of noise, but they get the job done. We’ve been in Jhotwara for quite some time now. We aren't trying to be the biggest supplier in the country. We just focus on the people who walk in or the contractors we’ve known for years. Sometimes the stone comes in from the quarry looking one way, and once we polish a bit of it, it looks completely different. It’s interesting to see the different patterns. We don't have a big fancy office with air conditioning. We mostly sit in a small cabin near the front gate. It’s a practical business. We just sell stone and try to keep things moving. There’s always a truck coming in or going out, so it stays fairly lively around here. We just take it one day at a time.
